ABOUT the co-founders & executive producers:

Welcome to Producers In Bars, the Blog, Part 2: The Search for More Content. You may know us from Producers in Bars the Blog Part 1 or Producers in Bars the Twitter handle (@ProducersInBars). Coming soon is Producers in Bars the TV Show, Producers in Bars the Beer, and hopefully, one day, Producers in Bars, the Flamethrower. The kids will love it. You see what we did there?

With over 25 years experience between them, Co-Founders Brian Matoren (@BrianMatoren) and Alex Bente (@theAlexBente) are veterans in the sports and entertainment industry. Working together in the On-Air promos group at NBC Sports, (Brian as a Writer/Producer, Alex as a Producer/Editor), it didn't take long to realize they had more than a few things in common. They both listed Mel Brooks movies as their favorites (Spaceballs for Brian; Blazing Saddles for Alex). They both think Seinfeld is the best sitcom ever. They both love storytelling and creating content, and have a blast doing it. And they both enjoy beer. And really, what else is there? And one night, in a bar, while watching TV and drinking a beer, Producers in Bars was born.

So there are a lot of blogs out there, you may be asking yourself what's so special about this one? Glad you asked us. We are the opposite of every blog you've ever read.

We take fake moments from TV and Movies and match them with real moments from sports and life. We speak what's on our minds, which most of the time is TV, movies, sports, and the occasional adult beverage. We quote movies and TV shows religiously. We quote them while watching TV, while watching sports, and while drinking. We also like Seinfeld. We like Seinfeld a lot.

We're also TV Producers. We produce promos and other cool stuff. We watch a lot of TV. A LOT of TV. And because we're writers too, we figured we might as well write about what we're watching.

We're also drinkers. Not alcoholics mind you. That's serious and we would never joke about it. But we, like any hard working adult, enjoy the occasional cocktail. So once again, as writers, we like to write about what we're drinking too.

So that's pretty much us in a nutshell. Actually, this would be us in a nutshell:

We hope you visit us often, and enjoy what you see. But it's not all about us. We want to hear from you. Don't be shy. Tell us #whatyawatchin and #whatyadrinkin. Or just tell us to take off, if you're Canadian.
